Can I save a beautiful canvas handbag?

I bought my daughter a fairly expensive canvas handbag. The first time she used it she got chocolate all over it. I’ve tried plain water and club soda on the stains but neither worked. The bag is white and green with leather straps. Any ideas how I can save this bag?
